Aidan and Hilda Week: A Retreat on Holy Island led by Ray Simpson and Scott Brennan

Retreat theme:  At this retreat Ray Simpson will be unveiling fresh perspectives on five women and seven men who spearheaded the 7th c Irish Mission which transformed northern Britain and other parts of the world.
In an episode of his celebrated TV Great British Railway Journeys Michael Portillo says on Saint Aidan's Holy Island monastic site: 'In the age of the railways it becomes more and more difficult to maintain the pure faith of the monks of Lindisfarne'.
This retreat will equip us rise to this challenge. We will explore the relevance of that spiritual dynamic today, and how it is possible to live that spirituality in the age of rail and internet.Â
This retreat will include prayer rhythms (midday and night), worship, input, guided activities, free time.There is access to our prayer room and Celtic studies library throughout your stay.Â
