A Feast Of New Goodies!

The Hilda phenomenon continues to unfold. From Queensland I receive a new song of Saint Hilda's Homily. The first of a trilogy of novels on Hild by Nicola Griffith is brought to my attention. The Anglican Centre in Rome carries an article about my new book on Hilda of Whitby, and invites me to lead a day there on Saturday 29 November. Please come if you are that way!

Our Celtic Christian Studies Library on Holy Island is re-furbished. The main sections that relate to Celtic Christianity and our Way of Life are now housed in the smaller room at Lindisfarne Retreat. Sections on worship, the Bible and the Emerging Church remain in the former library, now used as our temporary chapel. Judith Line, helped by Skeena, worked from dawn to dusk for over a week re-ordering the shelves and cataloguing up to two hundred new volumes. These included new Lives of saints - Ebbe, Etheldreda (Audrey), the Welsh Book of Saints, The King of the North: the life and times of Oswald of Northumbria, further volumes on the Desert Fathers, a completed set of the Sister Fidelma historical novels - and of course Hilda of Whitby. Please come and use it.
