The Challenge To Electorates

Democracies hold elections and all countries have citizens. Citizens complain about their local and national governments.

In my country prisons and water/sewage companies are a disgrace, and education, health, police and transport services leave much to be desired. Everyone complains but no one wants to pay higher taxes.

A revolution is needed, but the revolution cannot be confined to politicians and  business leaders.

Each country needs a population that is fit for purpose.

We need motivation to work hard, be honest, respect others, steward our bodies, minds, time and talents.  Moral values and accountability need a come-back. This revolution can only happen if we face the truth about existence and ourselves.

We need to learn from the restorational justice principles of early Christian Celtic societies: prisoners work on replacing their vice with a virtue that restores relationships with those they have hurt through their crimes.

The Creator of all requires us to love God and love our neighbour as ourselves, to seek justice and to walk humbly with our God and with our fellow citizens.

A greed-free, prejudice-free, hate-free electorate can achieve amazing things.

Begin today and see what amazing things are possible.
